READER REVIEW ON AMAZON. “Beautiful photos of a city that you really don’t see, whether you live there or visit often as I do. The photographs are so sharp and colorful. some of the photographs are breathtaking. If you are considering a book on LA or just looking for some photos of LA, this is the book for you!!”

A different kind of book is now available on the Kindle format; it’s a travel photo book with full page images that offer a groundbreaking high resolution appearance. For the next few days, “How to Visit LA When You Live in LA – A Photographic Tour by photographer, John Glass, is available on a special promotion from Amazon as a free book.

Customarily, images on Kindle have covered half or a little more of the page and without any attention to quality or resolution of the presentation. Nic Greene, the book’s graphic designer, used his years of experience as a digital photo retoucher and digital artist to ensure the photos actually were represented on a Kindle and all Kindle Readers with the highest of definition. The book can be read on a Kindle tablet and also by using the Kindle Cloud Reader which can be used on any Web browser – PC or Mac. Some smart phone Kindle apps can be used to read the book, as well.

The book is made up of thirty images Glass took of great places to visit in Los Angeles. His affinity for the outdoors began as a toddler in Colorado then moving to an avocado ranch in San Diego where he spent all his school years. For the book he used photos he took all over LA ranging from Palos Verdes Estates to Agua Dulce, San Marino, Malibu and Big Bear, to name a few, as well as Burbank and La Canada.

The editor of the book, his wife, Jean Dale Glass, has included Google Map links to each photo location which can be accessed in the reader. They also offer a downloadable PDF of all the links to easily locate each site on a computer, smartphone or tablet. “Traveling with John on his photo journeys”, Jean said, “is a treat and we wanted to share this experience with others. Once the reader downloads the PDF, they can copy to any device and click through to Google Maps.”

First in a series titled “Hit the Road with John Glass”, these books are not only travel books but photo books as well. Glass, a resident of Glendale, loves to travel the West and take outdoor nature photographs of his favorite places to share with others. Future books will include photos from Colorado, San Diego, Death Valley, Montana and as far away as Hawaii and Florida.

Once that the special Amazon offer is over “How to Visit LA When You Live in LA” will be offered on Amazon as a Kindle book for $3.99. The website www.PhotosByJohnGlass.com has almost 1000 photos to peruse.  He has another hundred thousand images on his computer.

You can also see the photos with this music video which previews the book.
