SAS veterans and elite fitness coaches launch new high performance program

In collaboration with professional sports trainers, former professional athletes and fitness experts, a select group of SAS [Special Forces] veterans have started a new exclusive, high performance fitness and results program for those in professional sports teams, individual athletes, dedicated fitness individuals and those wanting to break into the elite ranks within their discipline, sport or endeavour.

This is not just for those existing elite athletes and high performers but also those that want to rise to new levels and break into the elite levels. Programs start as early as teenager mentoring level up to and including executive or corporate adventure activities. We are all about training and mentoring those who want to be the best, supported by elite performers in their own right. We have both fitness and non-fitness programs.

High performance athletes, individuals and groups need to be constantly engaged with like-minded people who can guide, mentor and develop them to be the best in their field. This is not something you can learn from personal training courses or even capture in a gym environment. It requires experience and direction from those that have travelled the same road before. Former military special forces veterans from the elite SAS have launched a new, exclusive high performance mentoring and development program in Melbourne, Victoria.

Unlike the usual run of popular 24 hour gyms, fitness franchises and crossfit programs that abound the cities and suburbs, this new program has been developed and refined by experienced SAS commanders and veterans. Their unique preparation, selection and ongoing fitness and leadership skills have remained a closely guarded secret for generations and never accessible to the wider public.

The new high performance program will be exclusive to “The Unit”.

Eligibility for SAS elite performance and development

Placement offers for the exclusive program are limited and only made following a pre-selection barrier test and selection course. The pre-selection barrier test is a series of standardised fitness, mental and leadership tests aimed at identifying those with the best aptitude for selection training and further consideration.

“We don’t want only those that are already high performance athletes or individuals. We will be mentoring, training and leading many of those with the right attitude, commitment and aptitude to become uniquely prepared and disciplined competitors in any field of endeavour” noted the Director of Studies, an 11 year veteran of the SAS and former Counter Terrorism commander. “It is highly competitive to get in, and it will be highly competitive to remain in the program.” He concluded.

“We are not creating or training a militia or paramilitary unit here. We are selecting, developing and training a select group of individuals to excel and perform at the highest levels, just as communities or tribes have done for centuries” commented another of the SAS veterans, a former commander who served in a number of campaigns and international risk management professional.

The program is open to both men and women.

Fitness based programs, adventure activities, group performance, leadership, skill development, team skills, leadership, planning and business applications will all be included within the final program.

Melbourne the new “Firm Base” for SAS fitness and development

Operating from their first “Firm Base”, a fully equipped, specialised training and fitness facility in Melbourne, sessions and activities will be held both on site and across the greater Melbourne area.

The program is supported and developed in conjunction with select, professional athletes, trainers, coaches and sports specialists.

Group and corporate programs have also been developed for select applicants.

In conjunction with the various programs, The Unit will be raising awareness and funds for veterans and select charities, including those that support special forces veterans and their families, such as Wandering Warriors
