ENDICOTT, N.Y. (March 20, 2014) — March is Red Cross Month, and 17 Wendy’s restaurants  throughout the Southern Tier and Central New York will support the Central New York Region of the American Red Cross this month with a special promotion on Tuesday, March 25.

The 17 Wendy’s restaurants will donate 20 percent of their sales from 5 to 8 p.m. March 25 to the American Red Cross. Proceeds from the restaurants in the Southern Tier, Central New York, Cortland County and Tompkins County will go to the Red Cross Central New York Region. Wendy’s is also offering the promotion at restaurants in the Elmira and Corning areas, and those proceeds will benefit the Sullivan Trail and Greater Steuben Red Cross chapters.

“We are honored to continue our support of the Red Cross during March is Red Cross Month,” said Patsy Thatcher, Wendy’s Marketing Director. “By visiting our stores on March 25, our patrons can help their family members, friends and neighbors who’ll need Red Cross services when disaster strikes.”

Here are the locations of the participating Wendy’s restaurants: Auburn, Big Flats, Binghamton (Upper Front Street and Main Street), Cicero, Corning, Cortland, Endicott, Fulton, Horseheads, Ithaca, Liverpool, North Syracuse, Oswego, Owego, Sayre, Pa., and Vestal Parkway.

“We are grateful to Wendy’s and their patrons for supporting us again this March 25,” said Susan Lee, Major Gift Officer for the Red Cross Central New York Region. “We rely on the generosity of the public to provide our disaster relief services throughout the Central New York Region.”

From Franklin D. Roosevelt to Barack Obama, every U.S. President since 1943 has designated March as Red Cross Month. The American Red Cross is synonymous with helping people, and has been doing so for more than 130 years.
