Sky won awards for Best Customer Service, Best Customer Benefits and Best TV provider in Ireland at the inaugural uSwitch.ie Broadband Awards in the Marker Hotel, Dublin last night. The Awards reinforced Sky’s position as a leader in Ireland’s broadband and TV market, with the company’s excellent reputation in customer service receiving recognition from broadband and TV customers throughout Ireland.

Sky’s award for Best TV Provider reflects the continuing success of the Sky+HD set-top box, which, once connected to broadband, gives Sky customers access to On Demand and thousands of hours of great TV at the touch of a button and at no extra cost. This includes access to Ireland’s widest Catch Up TV service with 49 channels and a vast number of TV Box Sets of the latest and greatest shows, like Moone Boy, Grey’s Anatomy, The Tunnel, Desperate Housewives, Game Of Thrones and Modern Family, as well as hundreds of hours of Sky Movies content in line with their TV subscription.

The continued growth in popularity of Sky Go which offers Sky customers up to 57 channels to watch live and On Demand wherever they want on their mobiles devices was a crucial factor in Sky winning the award for Best Customer Benefits.

Sky Ireland’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Mark Anderson, said: “Having launched our broadband service less than 12 months ago and becoming Ireland’s fastest growing broadband provider, we are delighted to have won three awards at the inaugural uSwitch.ie Broadband Awards. It is particularly encouraging that our best-in-class customer service is being recognised by customers throughout Ireland and that our continued investment in products, services and great TV content has also been acknowledged with an award.”

The winners were voted for by an independent national survey, thousands of customer ratings and a judging panel of industry experts. uSwitch.ie, Ireland’s leading independent broadband price comparison and switching service provider, has introduced and is committed to establishing the Broadband Awards as an annual event, designed to recognise the best of the Irish home broadband industry over the past 12 months.
