Roland Mouret Unveils AW14 Collection at Paris Fashion Week

Hot on the heels of New York, London and Milan came the final fashion week in Paris, and Roland Mouret has revealed his AW14 collection to a captivated audience in the French capital.
 
Under the watchful eye of Roland’s trusted artistic director Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, the AW14 Roland Mouret collection was presented to the world from the Espace Vendôme venue in the heart of Paris on Friday morning (28th February).
 
Paris Fashion Week is arguably the most significant of the “big four” fashion weeks, and Roland Mouret certainly left his mark on this year’s Autumn/Winter catwalks as he unveiled his latest creations to a crowd of the fashion elite.  
 
Speaking ahead of the unveiling of his AW14 collection, Roland said:
 
I have reached that exact point in my life where I am doing what I feel passionate about, rather than what I feel is expected of me. I am a designer, not an artisan. A preserver of my own past, my identity, which is partly heritage, partly upbringing, but mostly the sum of the choices we make in life.
 
My talent has become my own culture, a kind of personal legacy.  I must define it each season in order to preserve it. It took me over fifty years to get here today, this morning, in this abandoned bank in Paris.
 
And what have I learnt? Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.
 
This season, for me, is not about presenting a look or an outfit, but rather about advancing my skills, the thing I have distilled over decades into something close to a definition of myself. An expression of technique and artistry of who I am and how far I have travelled.
 
Every day is a beginning.
