FedEx Trade Networks Announces Jack Muhs as President & CEO

30-Year FedEx Veteran Appointed to Lead the Global Freight Forwarder

MEMPHIS, Tenn – WEBWIRE

FedEx Trade Networks, the freight forwarding arm of global shipping giant FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), announced the appointment of James R. (Jack) Muhs as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.

In his new position, Muhs is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of FedEx Trade Networks, including the company’s global operations and product portfolio.

Muhs has spent nearly thirty years in the international trade industry since beginning his career with FedEx in 1984.  He has served in a variety of operations and executive management roles, building an in-depth knowledge of global freight movement and the evolving needs of international shippers.

Prior to joining FedEx Trade Networks, Muhs most recently served as senior vice president of U.S. International, Global Planning, Engineering and Trade Services at FedEx Express, where he was responsible for the company’s U.S. export business, as well as the planning and engineering of the FedEx Express global network.  During his tenure with FedEx, Muhs has supported the company’s global growth strategy by overseeing key strategic areas, including global trade, freight movement, engineering and network planning, operations and customs clearance activities—all of which align with the daily operations and continued development of FedEx Trade Networks.

“FedEx Trade Networks has experienced impressive growth since beginning its global expansion, and I look forward to continuing the momentum to provide customers around the globe with unique FedEx freight forwarding solutions,” said Muhs.
