Summit Fit Dojo was one of the first pioneers to introduce fitness kickboxing to Thornton, CO residents.

By taking the training concepts and methods of professional fighters, owner and Head Fitness Instructor, Javier Lozano Jr was able to create a unique fitness program that delivered immediate results.  

Coach Javier is a former NASKA World Champion fighter and 3rd Degree Black Belt, who has been training in the martial arts for over 23 years.  His knowledge and expertise in the martial arts has helped him shape a fitness kickboxing program that was similar to his training sessions as a professional sport karate athlete.  

From training on heavy bags to performing explosive plyometric exercises, Summit Fit Dojo’s Thornton fitness kickboxing sessions can help yo burn as much as 750 calories in under one hour!  During every kickboxing session, you’ll train on a free-standing heavy bag for about 2-3 minutes, executing a variety of combinations between 4 and 5 strikes.  Many of these strikes derive from boxing techniques, muay thai  combinations, American kickboxing moves, and a few other twists to add a little excitement to your training.  

After each round you’ll go into an active recovery period of about 1 - 2 minutes, and during this period, you’ll work on strength training, conditioning, or core development.  The purpose of the active recovery is to keep your heart rate up, but not have it drop to low, since it will go back up during your next kickboxing round.

Once you’ve finished your workout for the day, the fitness coach will take you through 5 minutes of core development, which usually consist of exercising your abs and stabilizer muscles.  This helps give you that slim look around the waist and stomach, and tone up some of those problem areas you may be struggling with too.

By combining the functional body movements of fitness kickboxing, usage of large, compound muscle groups for strength training, and burnout in your abs and core, you’ll begin to see a fitter, slimmer, and sexier you.
