American Board of Industrial Hygiene Celebrates 54 Years of Service
The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) administers the internationally recognized Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) program.
ABIH is proud to have helped improve the health and safety of millions of workers in countries around the world.
In 1960, the American Board of Industrial hygiene was established as a not-for-profit corporation. Since then, ABIH has been the world’s largest, premier organization for certifying professionals in the practice of industrial hygiene. This year marks the 54th anniversary of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
ABIH certifies qualified industrial hygienists engaged in the practice of industrial hygiene who have met the professional knowledge standards established by the ABIH’s Board of Directors. For over half a century, thousands of industrial hygiene professionals have obtained the prestigious Certified Industrial Hygienist certification. These dedicated professionals, who are at the top of the profession, have helped to make our world a safer place to work and live in.
“Fifty four years of service is a proud milestone for all of us at ABIH,” said Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH. “ABIH is proud to have helped improve the health and safety of millions of workers in countries around the world. We look forward to continuing to serve the industrial hygiene community in our role of administering the CIH program.”
The American Board of Industrial Hygiene is dedicated to the implementation of professional standards designed to serve the public, employees, employers, clients and the industrial hygiene profession. First and foremost, ABIH certificants and candidates give priority to health and safety interests related to the protection of people, and act in a manner that promotes integrity and reflects positively on the profession, consistent with accepted moral, ethical and legal standards.
Certified Industrial Hygienists are recognized as leaders in the industrial hygiene community and are highly sought after by industry, institutions and government agencies.
