UK Healthcare Support Fortalice Refurbishment with Charitable Donation

Since 1977 Fortalice has provided emergency accommodation and a wide variety of support services for women and young people who have experienced abuse. They are also committed to personal and public awareness of the issue and its impact on society.

One of the most important services they provide is safe and secure temporary accommodation. With 22 flats, four of which are adapted to cater to people living with disabilities, Fortalice regularly welcomes women with or without children, even sons aged up to seventeen.

Recently the charity launched a refurbishment project to revamp this accommodation and make more room, not only for overnight stays but counselling. Fortalice will double the number of counselling rooms available on site to six and update their facilities with a host of new furniture and technology.

But in order to do so, they rely upon donations by private donors and businesses like UK Healthcare.

Arlene Cochrane, Director of Finance at Fortalice Ltd, said: “Originally, we had intended to find a new property which might allow us to accommodate more visitors and provide an even better range of support services to all. But ultimately, we decided that we already had the best property for our needs we just had to make it even better.

“Our refurbishment project will benefit many women and children in the Bolton area, whose lives are affected by abuse, but this would not have been possible without the generosity of companies like UK Healthcare. We’re extremely grateful for their support and look forward to working with them closely in the future.”
