ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 18, 2005) — New Country Farms today announced the addition of a new Baby Swiss Cheese to its line up of premium natural cheeses. The Baby Swiss joins a line of five Jack cheeses introduced by the company last November.

Consumers have responded well to the premium Jack cheeses. The Portabella Garlic Jack—expanding on the traditional Jack recipe with a flavorful mix of portabella mushrooms, garlic and basil—has particularly caught the attention of cheese aficionados.

“An assistant cheese buyer at a major distributor grated New Country Farms’ Portabella Garlic Jack onto a pizza for a weekend party with friends and told us afterward, ‘It’s the best cheese I’ve ever tasted; we loved it!’” said Steve Wise, New Country Farms General Manager. “Every time our cheeses are sampled in stores, they fly out of the deli case. At Corti Brothers Market in Sacramento, California, 84 eight-ounce blocks sold on a recent Saturday during a demo. People who try it, like it.”

“Today New Country Farms introduces an exciting new Baby Swiss cheese at Expo West,” added Wise “and we will continue to expand our line with best-in-class new cheeses to satisfy the demand from retail buyers and consumers for delicious high quality natural cheeses.”

New Country Farms’ cheeses are produced by artisan cheese makers. In California, the Jacks are hand-made in a tradition of Danish excellence spanning four generations. The new Baby Swiss cheese, produced by a Wisconsin Master Cheese Maker, likewise shows its artisan origins. All of NCF’s premium cheeses are wholesome and natural, made with milk from cows not treated with rBST1. The company is careful to select only the finest and freshest natural ingredients for its cheeses.

New Country Farms, LLC is owned by American family farmers, the members of the National Farmers Organization (NFO). For five decades, NFO and its member producers have worked to assist family farmers. NFO formed New Country Farms in 2003 to bring farmers and consumers closer together. Paul Olson, President of the National Farmers Organization, observed, “New Country Farms returns consumer dairy dollars directly to the hard-working farmers who produce milk for America’s tables.”

Today’s dairymen and women produce the highest quality fresh milk for New Country Farms’ cheese makers. Teaming up with small artisan cheese makers, New Country Farms creates and markets excellent cheeses made from the freshest, most wholesome milk and other farm-fresh natural ingredients.

1 According to the FDA, there is no significant difference between milk from rBST treated cows and from non-rBST treated cows.
