2006-08-11, Terraplay has been nominated as a finalist in the Best Games Service Provider category of the first ever Mobile Entertainment Awards, hosted by Mobile Entertainment magazine.

The inaugural Mobile Entertainment Awards are recognizing companies that are involved with the creation and delivery of entertainment content, including handset companies, mobile marketing services, on-devise portal providers and more. Terraplay is one of the finalists that was selected out of hundreds of nominees and is joined by other innovators in the mobile industry, including Digital Chocolate, Electronic Arts, 3UK, MTV and Sony BMG.

Terraplay was selected for its MOVE gaming platform and Global Gaming Network service, enabling games publishers, network operators and service providers to deliver revenue-generating connected gaming services to large communities across multiple channels on a global scale.

By enabling innovative in-game billing, Terraplay’s Global Gaming Network is also driving recurring revenue returns for content and service providers alike, a key aspect for the future success of all online services.

“At Terraplay we consider this as important industry recognition of our progress within the mobile gaming market. The continual expansion of the Global Gaming Network and the underlying MOVE technology that drives it remains our focus, and we are honoured to be a finalist”, says Terraplay CEO Sven Halling.

Terraplay and the other finalists will be assessed by a panel of 300 judges from across the industry. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Kensington Garden Hotel, London, on September 19, 2006.
