Solutions assist emergency personnel and dispatchers

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., August 10, 2006 – Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ: INGR) today announced that the Palm Beach County (Fla.) Fire-Rescue (PBCFR) has successfully transitioned to a comprehensive suite of Intergraph’s emergency incident management solutions. This implementation will assist personnel in providing fire and rescue protection for approximately 1 million residents in Palm Beach County and the surrounding communities.

PBCFR will leverage advanced tools resulting from the seamless integration of a variety of Intergraph and partner applications. Partners include Deccan’s resource optimization software, Locution’s fire station alerting technology, ACP for mobile and AVL equipment installation, and Sonik Messaging for a County-wide private paging system.

PBCFR selected Intergraph’s incident command and control system for their operation, which has approximately 50 fire stations throughout Palm Beach County. From the dispatch center, to the stations and on the fire and rescue vehicles, every PBCFR employee is utilizing the integrated technology to communicate and make split-second decisions.

PBCFR is Intergraph’s first U.S. customer to benefit from an I/Radio interface with the Motorola Centracom system. This functionality provides first responders with numerous benefits to save time and facilitate faster and better coordinated response capabilities such as when the operator dispatches an event, a tone alert is automatically sent to every Motorola handheld radio associated with the units assigned to that event, making the team members aware of the incident. Additionally, the system provides automated and manual management of talk groups which allows users to elevate a talk group to high priority and isolate the event details and radio traffic from the normal talk group. This isolation allows the dispatcher to manage the high priority event without impacting the normal talk group traffic.

“As a large public safety organization with a broad service area, Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue faces a variety of unique challenges,” said Ben Eazzetta, president of Intergraph Security, Government & Infrastructure. “Through our technology offerings, and our partner relationships, we are able to provide PBCFR with a suite of solutions to help save lives today, and prepare for the needs of tomorrow.”
