Oracle Expert to Present Alternative to Oracle Enterprise Edition in Upcoming Free Webinar Hosted by Confio Software®

Boulder, Colo., Nov. 4, 2013 – Confio Software, the makers of the award-winning ConfioÒ IgniteÔ database performance monitoring solution and a part of the SolarWindsÒ [NYSE:SWI] family, will host a free, live webinar entitled, “Oracle Standard Edition: A Smart, Cost-effective Alternative to Enterprise Edition,” on Nov. 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern. Oracle Certified Master Anton Els will help Oracle database administrators (DBAs) understand the differences between the two editions and identify the places it makes sense to use the more cost-effective version.
 
Oracle Standard Edition is often eschewed in favor of Enterprise Edition because the latter offers the maximum features and capabilities, but it also comes with a larger price tag. In this webinar, DBAs will explore Standard Edition’s features and similarities to Enterprise Edition.
 
DBAs will learn about Standard Edition’s High Availability solutions as well as the capacity for a robust Disaster Recovery environment. In addition, Els will explore implementing Oracle Real Application Clusters with a standby database.

Anton Els is the Product Development Manager and Architect at Dbvisit Software Limited.  He has been working with Oracle database technology since 1999, implementing many projects from small to large scale. His areas of interest include Linux, Oracle Standby, Oracle Backup and Recovery.  Els is an Oracle Database 11g Certified Master and has presented at NZOUG13 and Collaborate13.  He holds a Bachelor’s in mathematical sciences, and another in informatics, as well as certifications in Solaris and Red Hat administration.
