Shah discusses with FOX Business journalist Melissa Francis: Are too many tech companies rushing to file IPO’s?

Charlotte, NC – Amish Shah, President and Founder of high-tech recruiting firm Millennium Search, appeared on FOX Business in an interview with Melissa Francis. In the interview, Mr. Shah lends his expertise to the discussion of the recent movement of tech companies filing IPO’s and what it could mean for the market.

A headline at the start of the “Money with Melissa Francis” segment suggests: “IPO Pandemonium?” as Francis references the flash site Zulily being the latest company to seek its own 100 million dollar IPO. She turns to Shah for input after posing the question, “Is it just me, or is this turning into an IPO free-for-all?”
Shah concurs, relating the trend to the 1999 tech environment: “It’s like Groundhog’s day all over again.”

If there is anyone who could offer commentary regarding the current climate of technology, it is Mr. Shah.  As a highly-reputable technology recruiter, he draws upon his wealth of experience in uncovering and placing talent sought by Venture Capitalists and C-level executives worldwide. Shah’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to create Millennium Search, a boutique-style recruiting agency dedicated to the ethical, rapid and successful placement of top-tiered talent in the high-tech sector around the globe.

Shah’s skepticism of Zulily’s move does not translate to a belief that to go public is currently a bad decision for all companies. “I am for capitalism as an investor,” states Shah, “but [there is] lots of risk in what Zulily is doing. I think there are better plays out there going public than a flash site…they should learn from Groupon, right?”

Mr. Shah goes on to cite other businesses better positioned to go public, among them Square, the payment app founded by Twitter co-creator Jack Dorsey. He also points to Facebook as an example of success: “I actually did get in on the IPO on Facebook, and I held on, and I’m happy,” he says. “There’s a chance they could be close to what LinkedIn is doing in the next year or two.”
