H&M’s first store in Indonesia opens its doors

Today, more than 1,500 H&M fans lined up for several hours outside Indonesia’s first store at Gandaria City, Jakarta, in anticipation of the Swedish fashion retailer throwing its doors open at 10am.

Par Darj, Head of Franchise Operations for H&M, along with franchise partner and Country Manager, Mr. Sanveer Gill and Store Manager James Suen, officiated the ribbon cutting ceremony and welcomed an excited crowd of H&M lovers into its first Indonesian store. The first customer in line was awarded an H&M gift card of Rp 1,000,000. The next 2-20 customers in line received a gift card of Rp 350,000, and the next 250 received a gift card of Rp 200,000.

“We have had an amazing response from our customers here in Jakarta today, and we look forward to continue bringing them fashion and quality at the best price. We are also excited to partner with PT Hindo, who will bring the customers H&M’s core values,” says Par Darj, Head of Franchise Operations for H&M.

Two nights before, at the pre-launch party, fashionable guests were invited to preview and shop at H&M’s brand new two-storey 2,400 square meters store while being treated to new seasonal fashion and the latest trends. Some of the most notable guests were Raisa, Afgan, Maudy Ayunda, Jamie Aditya, Ayu Dewi, RAN, Dimas Beck, and Asia’s Next Top Model 2013 winner, Jessica Amornkuldilok along with two finalists; Stephanie Retuya and Helena Chan.

H&M’s new store at Gandaria City carries a complete range of fashion and accessories for women, men, and children with new items in store daily. This Autumn 2013 season showcases drama with a tomboy spirit for women’s collection and contrasting shapes and new tailoring for men’s collection.

H&M’s first store is located at Gandaria City, Jakarta. Opening hours are 10.00am to 10.00pm daily.

Following the first store opening in Gandaria City, H&M will continue its expansion in Indonesia with a second store opening in another well known retail destination, Pondok Indah Mall on October 9th, 2013.
