Salute Products and Intelligent Target Systems Partner to Provide Portable, Reactive, Moving Steel Target Platforms

Combined systems provide innovative and durable Active Shooter
Training™ platform for law enforcement and military tactical training environments

Hillsboro, Oregon – October 2, 2013
Salute Products, a leading provider of tactical steel shooting targets, and Intelligent Target Systems (ITS), an innovative designer/manufacturer of proprietary moving target systems, today announced a partnership whereby Salute steel targets will be incorporated into ITS’s Active Shooter Training™ and Weapons Training System™. The combined platform will deliver innovative active shooter training solutions for tactical training environments.

The integrated platform pairs Salute’s law enforcement and military tactical targets with ITS’s Active Shooter Training System™. The system coordinates the movement of a mix of steel and cardboard targets, causing them to mimic human movement through ITS’s patented drive technology. It comprises reactionary and decisional targets, the status of which can be instantly switched between “no-threats” and “threats” through the use of an Instructor Remote Control.

“Sustained rifle fire at steel targets mounted on our moving trolley system subjects those targets to extreme stress that destroys targets of lesser quality” said James Bliehall, ITS’s founder and president. “The targets from Salute continue to stand up to this punishment; day in and day out.  Salute’s combination of the hardest steel, Safe-to-Shoot™ engineering and availability of a wide range of tactical target designs makes it a perfect match for our Active Shooter Training™ platforms.”
“I’m excited about this partnership”, said Mike Eggiman, Salute’s president. “We’re happy to be collaborating with Intelligent Target Systems to provide combined solutions for their Active Shooter Training™ systems. The combination makes a great solution for complex tactical training environments, and gives our customers exposure to an additional option when it comes to pairing our steel targets with a high-end moving base.”
