Jauntaroo Picks Top 50 For "Best Job Around The World;" Diverse Group Of Chief World Explorer Candidates Comes From 9 Countries And 18 U.S. States

New York, NY - (NewMediaWire) - October 1, 2013 - Vacation Matchmaker travel website Jauntaroo has picked 50 Top Candidates to move ahead in the “Best Job Around the World” application process.  More than 3,000 people from 99 countries applied for the Chief World Explorer (CWE) role that will take the successful candidate on a year of all-expenses-paid travel around the globe. 

Candidates in the Top 50 come from 9 countries, including Australia ;(2 candidates), Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso,Canada ;(3), Croatia, France ;(2), Malaysia, and the United States ;(38).  Within the U.S., candidates call 18 states home, including California ;(10), Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois ;(3), Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Nevada ;(2), New Mexico, New York ;(3), Pennsylvania, Texas ;(5), Virginia and Washington(3).

Jauntaroo’s Top 50 is comprised of candidates that secured impressive support from friends and family, displayed savvy social media skills, showcased engaging personalities and created captivating content.  Candidates will continue to secure support from family and friends by ‘Liking’ their video submissions since previous counts have been reset to zero.

Each candidate submitted a 60-second video by September 15 to qualify for consideration.  The initial round of 3,000 videos received more than 4.3 million views.  From there, the Top 50 candidates were invited to make a second video submission – a webisode of their hometown.  The candidates’ webisodes are featured on thecampaign site which is open for viewing by the general public who can also show support for favorite candidates by ‘Liking’ each submission.

Tomislav Perko from Zagreb, Croatia received the most support in the first round with more than 50,000 ‘Likes.’ Along with several other candidates, Tomislav attracted individual media coverage for his application in his home country.  Some candidates also have appeared on reality TV shows, such as Ariel Tweto from Flying Wild Alaskaand Ryan Danz from the Amazing Race and the Apprentice: Martha Stewart.

The final step in the CWE selection process is identifying the Final 5 candidates that will be flown to a secret location for in-person interviews. Jauntaroo’s CWE will be announced mid-November and begin the role in January 2014.

The successful CWE will earn a $100,000 salary to share their travel experiences via social media, participate in VolunTourism activities and create webisodes of each destination visited for Jauntaroo’s registered members, orJauntaristas.

The final itinerary will comprise as many as 50 destinations, including Berlin, Calistoga, Costa Navarino, Denver,Fort Worth, the Maldives, Nassau-Paradise Island, St. Lucia, and Puerto Rico’s San Juan, Ponce and Aguadilla.
