PPG Aerospace names Scott and Hood to global transparencies posts

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - PPG Industries’ (NYSE: PPG) aerospace transparencies group has named Arthur C. Scott global market director for commercial transparencies and Mark Hood global market director for general aviation transparencies, both based at PPG’s Huntsville, Ala., facility.

Scott had been global director for general aviation transparencies since 2010 and succeeds James Romano, who was appointed business manager for the PPG Aerospace Los Angeles application support center (ASC). Scott began his PPG career in 1977 in the company’s former automotive glass business, where he held engineering assignments. He joined PPG’s aerospace transparencies group in 1987 in Huntsville as a sales engineer and moved to Wichita, Kan., in 1991 to direct operations of the sales office there. He returned to Huntsville in 1996 as manager of specialty products and later became a senior account manager for original-equipment transparencies sales before being named global director for original-equipment transparencies sales in 2007.

A Middletown, N.J., native, Scott holds a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a board member of the North Alabama International Trade Association as PPG’s representative.

A Huntsville native, Hood joined PPG in 1984 at the Huntsville production facility, where he worked in product support engineering before heading the assembly cell. In 2002, he accepted the job as global lean coordinator for the aerospace business’s ASC network. Most recently he was OEM (original equipment manufacturer) market segment manager for commercial transparencies covering Canadian, South American and European airframe customers.
