Carlsbad, CA – August 26, 2013- ITI (Intellectual Technology Inc.), the leading supplier of secure on-demand issuance of motor vehicle documents, today announced the addition of a photo capture capability to their Self-Service Kiosks. The new photo capture capability enhances the existing drivers license and ID card renewal service by allowing the consumer to take a high quality photo right at the kiosk.

“Adding intelligent photo capture to self-service kiosks allows citizens a user friendly, convenient and efficient way to perform what is traditionally a time-consuming process”, said Craig Litchin, President of ITI. “We are committed to further enhance our self-service offerings to shorten wait times and improve public satisfaction with motor vehicle agencies.”

ITI has partnered with PIXARA, a leading innovator in the intelligent photo capture market. PIXARA’s unique Facial Detection Software automatically detects a good versus bad photo. For example, it detects head position, smile, eyes (open or closed), and if the person is wearing a hat or scarf that obscures the photo.

Once a good photo is captured, ITI utilizes facial recognition technology provided by Marquis ID Systems to authenticate the individual with a previously taken photo from the DMV database. When the person is authenticated, the ITI Kiosk will print a temporary license or ID card. The individual will receive the official document by mail.

Drivers License and ID card transactions offered by ITI’s Self-Service Kiosks reduces wait times, increases customer satisfaction and ensures a secure trusted transaction for the DMV. All new self-service kiosk deployments will include a camera and an option for the photo capture capability. Existing kiosks can be upgraded in the field.

ITI is demonstrating the photo capture capability at the AAMVA International Conference beginning August 26, 2013 in Scottsdale, AZ.
