Atlanta, Georgia – July 30, 2013 – Green Energy Development (“GED”), a premier global developer of all forms of sustainable renewable energy solutions and facilities, applauds the nomination of former Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn (ret.) for Assistant Secretary of the Navy for energy, installations and the environment.  Mr. McGinn is the current President of the American Council on Renewable Energy (“ACORE”).

The position Mr. McGinn has been nominated for is key in executing the Pentagon’s agenda in renewables.  With a more narrow scope, his position within the Navy will help to lower the costs of advanced biofuels.

Mr. David Ames, GED’s Chairman and CEO, states, “Dennis McGinn will once again be a strong asset to the Navy as he helps guide the shift to renewables within the Pentagon.  Renewable energy of all forms can play a critical role in ensuring continued Navy operational resilience under all threat scenarios, including potential attacks on our nation’s electric grid.”  He added, “Dennis McGinn has been a prolific leader for ACORE and the Renewable Energy Industry.  The United States, President Obama and the Pentagon could not have a better person to fill this leadership role.”
