Farmington Hills, Mich. – Bosch, a leading global technology supplier, announced today that its clean diesel technology is featured on the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel. Bosch provides the fuel injection system, ceramic glow plugs, engine control module, exhaust gas treatment technology and sensors for the vehicle.

“The launch of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel solidifies the growing perception and market demand for clean diesel technology here in the United States,” said Bernd Boisten, regional president, Diesel Systems North America, Robert Bosch LLC. “With this compact sedan, Chevrolet is demonstrating its trust in the many benefits this technology provides, including increased fuel efficiency, superior driving range and maintaining its value longer. We are thrilled to see Chevrolet bringing a clean diesel into the U.S. market now and thus further increasing choices for consumers.”

The Chevrolet Cruze gasoline model sold more than 280,000 vehicles in North America last year, demonstrating the strength of the vehicle in the marketplace. The launch of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel in the U.S. marks the first clean diesel car from Chevrolet in decades. It also builds on the Cruze’s already notable fuel efficiency and safety, making it a smart choice for shoppers looking for a quality compact car. In addition, the Cruze Diesel produces 151 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque.

The Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel is the most recent addition of clean diesel models for sale in the U.S. Bosch predicts there will be more than 60 diesel vehicle models available in North America in 2017.
