Going on holiday with airberlin from Dusseldorf

WEBWIRE

A holiday means rest and relaxation. In order to ensure that their holiday is already relaxing and stress-free from start of the journey, it is helpful if flight guests make good preparations in advance. This enables the holiday to start as soon as the holidaymakers reach the airport.

Maximilian Lohmaier, head of airberlin ground handling at Dusseldorf Airport, gives some useful advice: “In order to speed things up on the day of departure, flight guests have the option of checking in their baggage the evening beforehand at no extra charge, or of taking advantage of the online check-in, meaning they only need to hand in their baggage before departure. At the beginning of the holiday season it is also advisable to allow more time than usual to get to the airport.” In order to make boarding as pleasant as possible for our flight guests, airberlin has introduced a new boarding procedure. Flight guests are now divided into groups which board the aircraft one by one, thus avoiding queues and crowding. The respective boarding group, A, B, C or D, is now marked on the flight ticket.

This summer at Dusseldorf Airport, airberlin has more than 600 flights taking off and landing each week and the airline is flying direct to 70 destinations worldwide. The islands of Mallorca and Ibiza and other Mediterranean destinations such as Antalya or Thessaloniki are especially popular with holidaymakers. However, airberlin also offers an extensive range of destinations outside of Europe. As of this summer, for example, airberlin is flying up to twice a day to New York (JFK) and daily to Miami. Many destinations in Asia and Australia can be accessed by holiday-makers via the hub of airberlin’s strategic partner, Etihad Airways, in Abu Dhabi. As of 1st August, two daily connections via Abu Dhabi to Sydney will be available through the codeshare agreement between airberlin and Virgin Australia.
