Producer Big Swede & European Grammy Winning Keyboardist Haakon Graf to release Eclectic Jazz EP

Los Angeles, CA, July 15th, 2013 - Producer/Artist Big Swede and European Grammy Winner/Keyboardist Haakon Graf are releasing a Jazz EP on July 16th, 2013. The title of the release will be ’Big Swede Meets Haakon Graf - There Is Still Time’.
 
While taking a break from their respective gigs, the two L.A. based Scandinavian musicians Haakon Graf (Norway), and Big Swede (Sweden), decided to collaborate, even though their musical styles differ greatly.
 
“It is always refreshing to collaborate and hang out with other musicians. It can be very rewarding and inspiring to connect different musical identities,” says Big Swede. “Especially since I do most of my productions myself on a daily basis,” he adds.
 
The music has a blend of Big Swede’s tech savvy productions with Haakon Graf’s diverse jazz piano playing. “I play drums on 3 tracks, and the other ones are programmed. Haakon switches between an acoustic piano and a Fender Rhodes electric piano for different tracks,” explains Big Swede.
 
“I have been involved with great musicians from Gothenburg, Sweden, since 1976, and meeting Big Swede here in Los Angeles was like re-connecting with the vibes, humor and mentality from those earlier years. Very inspiring,” says Haakon Graf.
 
The title of the album, There Is Still Time, is meant to have a positive message, and the intention is to remind people to continue spending time doing what they love. “It could mean making music, collaborating, to live, love and to explore life in general. It’s never too late to go and try something new. Never lose that excitement,” adds Big Swede.
 
 
Big Swede’s credits include: Mercedes-Benz, NCIS, CSI: Miami, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Alphas, 90210, Lie To Me, Punk’d, Real World, tour introduction music for Van Halen and drum samples for KISS and Slash. Collaborations include Reeves Gabrels (The Cure, David Bowie, Tin Machine) and Paul Ill (Courtney Love, James Blunt, Christina Aguilera).
