Today, there are over 200 million users of the internet’s largest professional network, LinkedIn.  It is an impressive statistic for a ten year old service that is used by professionals across the globe.  A popular feature of LinkedIn is the 1˝ million groups on the network that allow people to communicate and share information about various topics.  Over 80% of LinkedIn’s current users currently belong to at least one of these groups.

Last October, the American Board of Industrial Hygiene launched their LinkedIn group which has been growing steadily with new members added daily.   LinkedIn groups have become popular with the industrial hygiene community and thousands of Industrial Hygienists have joined groups sponsored by the ACGIH, AIHA and the newest group offered by ABIH.

For current members of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene’s LinkedIn group, it has become a popular destination to learn about new developments at ABIH, updates about the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) program, and for sharing information, ideas and opportunities with professionals from across the globe.

“The American Board of Industrial Hygiene’s LinkedIn group continues to grow and we would like to take this opportunity to invite all CIHs and those involved with the industrial hygiene community to become active group members,” reported Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH.  “In addition to LinkedIn, ABIH has also been utilizing Twitter and Facebook to also share information and updates with the industrial hygiene community.”
