CYPRESS, CA. July 31, 2006 — Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) (Nasdaq: UEIC) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Crestron Electronics for the joint development and supply of a revolutionary new product based on the award-winning UEI NevoSL™ and Crestron automation and control technology. The new product is a Crestron branded, model TPMC-4X, handheld WiFi touchpanel designed specifically for Crestron systems. Using the NevoSL platform and Crestron’s Isys i/O software, the TPMC-4X handheld touchpanel controller is able to deliver true 2-way WiFi communication for seamless system integration.

The TPMC-4X is the product of a collaborative effort between UEI and Crestron, combining the sleek, modern design of the NevoSL and Crestron integrated control technology. Crestron will integrate its own software and award-winning Isys i/O 2-way WiFi technology into the NevoSL, providing seamless communication with Crestron systems.
