Free Classifieds Site Takes On Gumtree In Australia

A new website is raising the stakes in free online advertising. Yourclassifieds.com.au has launched this week and is directly aimed at providing free advertising online for all Australians to buy and sell products free.

The site was launched this week and already has had a massive response with businesses placing many adverts already. The owners state they are excited and amazed at the massive response we have had so far.

When asked what their point of difference was, Manager Mary Saragena responded: “It’s all about providing a truly free service for people to buy and sell online. It differs from Gumtree in that for extras on Gumtree people pay around $5 to $70 where as the only features we are charging for is featured or extended listings. All other listings are 100% free.”

The site itself looks great and is very functional. When shown through the site by Saragena, it was observed a dummy listing being placed in under 2 minutes, and that included registering for the site and everything. No credit cards or payment information was required anywhere, which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age.

“I guess time will tell how successful it will be, but right now I’m placing my bets that this will be a huge success, especially with small business and mum and dad buyers,” stated Saragena.
