The 2013 American Industrial Hygiene Conference & Exposition (AIHce) officially began several days ago and attendees are still arriving.  More than 5,000 industrial hygiene, safety and occupational health professionals from across the globe are expected by the time the conference ends later this week.

Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH has been in Montreal for several days along with other members of the ABIH staff and volunteers.  “AIHce 2013 has gotten off to a great start,” he stated.  “AIHce is the premier time for ABIH to establish new relationships with professionals interested in pursing the CIH credential as well as reconnect with all the CIHs who attend this important event. We share information, but we learn a lot as well. This ensures that ABIH is focused on the needs and priorities of the industrial hygiene professional community.”

In addition to exhibiting in the exposition hall for several days, ABIH staff members are taking part in many of the conference activities being offered and they are hosting several events. Today, ABIH is participating in a student luncheon discussion about CIH eligibility and gap closure strategies. Informal discussions and a Q&A session with the ABIH staff will take place at the luncheon.

Over the next several days, ABIH cordially invites attendees to the following:

  • Perspectives of Preparation for the CIH Exam v7.0/RT 236, Wednesday, May 22nd, 1:30-4:30 pm. Sponsored by Students and Early Career Professionals Committee (SECPC).
  • ABIH Forum, Wednesday, May 22nd, 10:00 am – noon. ABIH Directors and the Executive Director will discuss certification topics, answer questions and seek audience input.

Since 1960, ABIH, a not-for-profit corporation, has been the world’s largest, premier organization for certifying professionals in the practice of industrial hygiene.  Thousands of attending industrial hygiene professionals have earned the prestigious Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification administered by ABIH.
