Buyers Laboratory Awards Samsung with “5 Star Ratings” for Environmental Performance of Print Devices

Extensive Lab Tests Also Result in Samsung Receiving Eight 2013 “Pick Awards” for Exceptional Performance

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. – Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today announced that Buyers Lab LLC (BLI), a leading independent tester of document imaging products, has awarded print devices CLX-6260FW, CLX-6260FD and CLP-680ND with “5 Star Ratings” for environmental performance. In addition, eight of its A3 and A4 multi-function printers (MFPs) as well as SyncThru Admin 6 device management solution have won BLI 2013 “Pick” Awards with an excellent rating in more than half a dozen categories.

BLI completes an in-depth laboratory evaluation on each unit to determine environmental performance ratings. The company tests for energy consumption and cost, toner/consumable yields, recovery time, runnability with recycled paper, noise emissions and environmentally friendly features. BLI’s Pick Awards are given to hardware and software that measure up as the best in comprehensive evaluations, which assess a wide range of the most important features and performance factors for buyers.

The three Samsung A4 color laser and multifunction printers, CLX-6260FW, CLX-6260FD and CLP-680ND, obtained the highest possible ratings of 5 Stars for performance in energy consumption. “Samsung earned several 5 Star Ratings by showing impressive results in our extensive lab testing,” said Pete Emory, BLI Lab Manager. “Strengths included lower than average projected annual energy consumption rates, faster than average recovery times from sleep mode and automatic duplex to help reduce paper use.”

Emory continued, “For the Pick Awards, Samsung’s CLX-9251NA stood out for its image quality, excellent administrative and feedback utilities and highly reliable engine. Buyers who care about image quality will be impressed, and we gave the SCX-8128NA top honors due to reliability, network connectivity, image quality and high toner yield tests.”

Samsung SyncThru Admin 6 was named “Outstanding Network Device Management Solution” for enabling administrators to manage fleets centrally and reduce maintenance time. BLI named it as the best device management utility evaluated in the “Picks” period for combining all the essential features of a network device management utility with innovative features such as the ability to discover and monitor local devices connected to networked PCs, SLA (service-level agreement) reporting capabilities and the ability to send error alerts via Twitter.
