FUJIFILM X-Series Receives Distinguished TIPA Awards For Outstanding Quality And Performance
Valhalla, N.Y., May 7, 2013 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced that it has been awarded three 2013 Technical Image Press Association1 (TIPA) Awards for excellence in two digital camera categories - Best Compact System Camera Expert Award for the FUJIFILM X-E1 interchangeable lens digital camera system and Best Expert Compact Camera Award for the premium FUJIFILM X20 digital camera. Fujifilm also received a TIPA award for Best Compact System Camera Prime Lens for the FUJINON XF14mm F2.8R. The TIPA Awards, which are globally recognized, are seen as the most coveted photo and imaging awards presented worldwide.

TIPA Best Compact System Camera Expert Award - FUJIFILM X-E1
The FUJIFILM X-E1, a compact and advanced interchangeable lens system camera, won the TIPA award in recognition of its outstanding image resolution and elegant design and craftsmanship. The X-E1 was recognized for its sophisticated 16.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor with the ability to record up to ISO6400 and its brilliant 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder.
TIPA Best Expert Compact Camera Award - FUJIFILM X20
The premium FUJIFILM X20 won the TIPA award in recognition of its newly-developed 12MP 2/3” X-Trans CMOS II sensor that achieves extremely high resolution and sharp images. The award also recognizes the X20’s built-in phase detection pixels that achieve the world’s fastest auto focus speed in its class as fast as 0.06 seconds2, its FUJINON F2.0-2.8 4x manual zoom lens super macro shooting as close as 1cm, as well as its 8 advanced filters for creative photographic possibilities.
Best Compact System Camera Prime Lens Award - FUJINON XF14mm F2.8R
The FUJINON XF14mm F2.8R lens, a super-wide-angle lens with a focal length of 21mm (35mm format equivalent), won the TIPA award for its innovative short back focus distance which helps eliminate vignetting while delivering clear and high resolution images. The award also recognized the distance and depth of field scales on the barrel with an aperture ring that features 1/3 stop intervals for easy control, as well as its minimum shooting distance of 0.18m (0.59ft).
