The San Mateo County Fair “Where Tradition Meets Innovation” boasts a stunning variety of world-class musical entertainment, live performances, fun festival food, local and traditional contests, and a “Ferris Wheeling” carnival. June 8-16th.

This year’s San Mateo County Fair opens June 8th and runs through June 16th. Fair contests have been a popular tradition since the Fair’s opened in 1926.  This year there is a contest for everyone from Fine Arts, Creative Home Arts, Horticulture and Flowers, Gardening, Agriculture, Literary Arts, Technology and Industrial Arts, DIY Science, Youth Exhibits, Youth Livestock, Sustainable Living and even Home Brewing.

Prizes depend upon the category and contest, but can range from publication of your work in our literary magazine, to ribbons, cash and even educational scholarships! Don’t miss this opportunity to show off your skill and meet others who share the same passion about a particular hobby.

Free at the Fair - The Fair’s annual FREE Summer concert series includes Three Dog Night bringing their hits “Mama Told Me (Not to Come),” “One”, and “Joy to the World;” Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, who rose to fame with the smash hit “We Built This City” and “Jane;”

Also performing at the Fair for the first time is Morris Day and the Time, who became an 80’s Pop Funk band favorite with their breakout tune “Jungle Love,” The Whispers, R&B legends, with hits The Time Will Come“ and ”Seems Like I Gotta Do Wrong" “ Queen Nation, a Queen Music Tribute Band that lives up to its promise of Queen’s well known hit “We Will Rock You and an award winning, an award winning Aerosmith tribute band, Aerorocks, and Tower of Power returns to the Fair with two performances. Tower of Power’s sound can be categorized as Urban Soul Music (according to the band’s leader and founding member, Emilio Castillo. Their hits “So Very Hard to Go,” and “Soul Vaccination,” are audience favorites. 

From carnival rides to grounds entertainment including there is something for everyone at the 2013 San Mateo County Fair!
