Accenture hosts Oracle Exadata, Exalogic and Exalytics environments to allow companies to “try before they buy”

NEW YORK – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) launched a new Center of Excellence for Oracle Engineered Systems, hosted by the Accenture Innovation Centers for Oracle®, which will help enable faster and more cost-effective implementation of Oracle solutions for Accenture’s clients globally. The virtual center is dedicated to accelerating the development, delivery and commercialization of business solutions based on Oracle’s Engineered Systems, including Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud and Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine. All of this will be provided to clients through a flexible, elastic cloud platform enabled by Oracle’s cloud technologies.

The new Accenture Center of Excellence for Oracle brings together Accenture’s functional and industry experience with leading Oracle technologies. Before making a significant investment, clients can test their workloads on Oracle Engineered Systems to get a picture of how a similar setup can accelerate their enterprise applications and strengthen analytics capabilities for performance and business benefits.

Comprising a package of servers, storage, networking and software, Oracle Exadata Database Machine can help deliver performance, scalability, and reliability, and is backed by Oracle Support. The package is designed to be is a cost effective hardware platform to run and consolidate databases, data warehouses, and On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) applications. Oracle Exalogic consists of hardware and software engineered together that can provide performance, reliability and scalability for Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Applications, while delivering lower total cost of ownership (TCO), reduced risk and higher user productivity.

Accenture works with clients to move beyond costly, complex infrastructure, using Oracle Engineered Systems to help design a cost efficient, flexible and scalable infrastructure. Accenture has built a number of offerings to complement Oracle’s Engineered Systems. For instance, Accenture Foundation Platform for Oracle (AFPO), which helps clients accelerate application deployments on Oracle Fusion Middleware, has been designed to operate on Oracle Exalogic. AFPO can help accelerate Oracle Exalogic and Oracle Exadata projects with rapid development images using Oracle VM that provide a snapshot of the data center environment. The Exalogic ready pre-tested, integrated and configured images, based on Oracle Fusion Middleware, can significantly reduce the implementation effort.

Additionally, Accenture secured access to Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine and developed proof-of-concepts leveraging the performance of Oracle Exalytics. As organizations’ business needs dictate new demands around the use of analytics, Accenture is building analytics solutions that help organizations maximize the power of Oracle Exalytics and Oracle Business Intelligence and move to a new level of performance. With numerous implementations of Oracle Exalytics completed, Accenture continues to build its experience and capabilities for companies in this market.

“With heightened interest from enterprises in big data and cloud technologies, this is the perfect opportunity for clients to experiment with new technologies without making a large investment,” said Derek Steelberg, global managing director of Oracle business for Accenture. “The new Accenture Center of Excellence for Oracle Engineered Systems will help our clients derive even greater value from leading Oracle solutions and help accelerate business results.”
