From South London Council Estate to Amazon No 1 Bestseller

NORFOLK, UK — Geraldine Evans, whose last ebook release hit the No. 1 Bestseller Lists on Amazon for British Detectives during a recent promotion, has now released “Up in Flames”, her latest police procedural. It will be free for five days from 23 April.

British author Geraldine Evans was brought up on a South London Council Estate and left school at sixteen after a basic education.

Although she had always been a keen reader, she believed that ’people like us don’t write books.’

So, it wasn’t until she hit her twenties that she decided to test this convention. Six years of rejection followed (there was no kindle back then).

After so many rejections she felt like murdering someone. So she did. She switched from writing romances to writing crime novels and apart from a couple of career glitches, she hasn’t looked back. She has now had 20 novels published, eighteen of them traditionally. And in 2010, she reinvented herself as an indie author.

Her latest indie release is “Up in Flames”, #2 in her Casey & Catt British Police Procedural series. It will be free for five days from 23 April 2013. Here’s the link to Amazon.com: http://amzn.to/10XheOg.
