New Production Facility for Alan David Custom

New York, N.Y. - Custom NYC suit maker, Alan David Custom, has announced the purchase of a 15,000 square foot Long Island City, N.Y. factory, which is now fully operational and producing each of Alan David Custom’s handmade custom suits NY. The new factory ensures that Alan David Custom can offer each client unique and individual attention in creating the finest custom made suits.
 
Before purchasing this new factory, Alan David Custom garments were made in  a factory located in Canada. The new, local factory now allows Alan David Custom some significant advantages in  customizing each client order. With the new factory located so close to their Midtown showroom, Alan David Custom can make the most of fine tailoring techniques such as basted fittings on each suit. A basted fitting is a temporary stitching method that can be altered so as to allow for changes in the fit and further alternations. This is a significant advantage that not every manufacture can offer.

Long known as a tailor of fine clothing, Alan David Custom has never manufactured made-to-measure or ready-to-wear suits. The family business dates back to 1926, when  Mr. Horowitz’s grandfather, Moe Ginsburg’ started the business and soon became a prominent and well-known member of the New York City apparel industry. Working in his grandfather’s stores while on breaks from school, Mr. Horowitz learned every facet of the clothing-making process while growing up. After obtaining a college degree and working in accounting for a short while, Alan decided to return to the family business and start working full time in 1992. Since then, Alan David Custom has built a strong reputation for offering only the highest quality hand-tailored men’s suits. The recently purchased facility in LIC represents strong commitment to making each hand-crafted piece of clothing to the highest standards.
