Following its successful launch in January, the new Mazda6 is rapidly becoming a favourite amongst family car buyers, particularly those for whom fuel economy and low carbon emissions are important. It was this feature that won it the What Car? Ultra-low-carbon Car of the Year award for 2013.

The Mazda6 is the second car to feature its new “Kodo – Soul of Motion” design concept, based on the agility and sleekness of the cheetah and first featured in the CX-5 SUV. Its bold front grille, prominent bumpers and low, rear-leaning cabin give the Mazda6 a dramatic eye-catching look which speaks of power and speed, even when the car is stationary. Manufactured with an ultra-high tensile steel frame which makes it both stronger and lighter, the Mazda6 delivers a much more exhilarating and responsive drive.

The new Mazda6 can be purchased either as a four-door Saloon or a five-door estate Tourer. With the rear seats folded, the latter can be filled with up to a maximum of 1,648 litres of luggage. There are three equipment grades, the entry-level SE, the SE-L and the Sport. Drivers of either model will find the controls for all the primary driving functions conveniently positioned around them. Rear-seat passengers will enjoy the luxury of nearly one metre of leg room, and the Mazda6 has been awarded a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating.

The Mazda6 is powered by either a 2.0-litre petrol engine, with a choice of output of 143 or 163bhp, or alternatively with the award-winning 2.2-litre diesel engine in either 148 or 173bhp versions. When coupled to the six-speed manual transmission – six-speed automatic versions are also available - this gives the Mazda6, with its SKYACTIV technology, a fuel efficiency of up to 67.3 MPG with CO2 emissions as low as 108g/km. The 174bhp diesel engine will also accelerate the car from 0-62mph in just 7.9 seconds.

Motorists purchasing and registering their new Mazda6 between March and September 2013 will also receive the coveted “13” licence plate which, due to its similarity to the letter “B”, is bound to prove popular to message-makers.

As an approved franchised dealer, JCT600 Mazda has showrooms in Sticker Lane, Bradford and Lower Wortley, Leeds which supply both new, approved used and fleet vehicles. A spokesperson for the company said “We are confident the award-winning Mazda6 is going to be in demand from our customers throughout Bradford and Leeds, particularly amongst our existing and potential Mazda clients.”
