On May 18th, thousands of industrial hygiene professionals from across the globe will converge in Montreal, Canada.  They will be coming to attend and participate in the American Industrial Hygiene Conference & Exposition (AIHce).  More than 5,000 industrial hygiene and safety professionals are expected to take part in the six days of education and networking.

According the AIHce conference website, “AIHce is designed to enhance knowledge of important topics and build strong relationships with other professionals. A variety of courses, sessions, posters, lectures, workshops and luncheon discussions address professional development, scientific issues, management trends, industry innovations and much more.”

One of this year’s co-sponsors is the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).  Since 1960, ABIH, a not-for-profit corporation, has been the world’s largest, premier organization for certifying professionals in the practice of industrial hygiene.  Thousands of attending industrial hygiene professionals have earned the prestigious Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification administered by ABIH.

ABIH will also be exhibiting at booth #600.  “We invite CIHs in attendance to stop by and meet the staff of ABIH and learn about some exciting new developments with the organization,” reported Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH.   “AIHce is always one of the premier events that bring CIHs from across the globe together for a few days each year.  It is also an excellent opportunity to earn CM credits by attending the conference and learning new skills and information about changes in the industry.  AIHce is also a perfect opportunity for industrial hygiene professionals to learn more about the CIH program and find out how they can begin the process of becoming certified,” he continued.

ABIH has released a video about the benefits of achieving the CIH that can be viewed at: http://www.abih.org/abih-video
