From March 13th through March 15th, EMSL Analytical attended and exhibited at the Fungal Research Group Foundation’s conference and training workshop in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The conference and workshop focused on flood and mold remediation after Super Storm Sandy and other natural disasters.

After the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, many people volunteered their time to assist in the cleanup efforts. However, unprofessional help caused many health and safety issues. In response, the Fungal Research Group Foundation prepared this conference and training workshop to educate those involved in the Hurricane Sandy cleanup.

The conference and training workshop focused on the comprehension of microbials, such as bacteria, mold, and mycotoxins, after flooding or water damage occur. The workshop also educated attendees on negative health effects and how to prevent microbial exposure. An exhibition and demonstration of technical equipment was also provided for attendees.

“EMSL Analytical has been offering microbial testing services following natural disasters, such as hurricanes at our equipped and accredited laboratories located throughout the United States,” states Joseph Frasca, Senior Vice President of Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “EMSL was glad to have the opportunity to attend and exhibit at this conference and show those affected by Hurricane Sandy ways that our company can assist in the restoration.”
