Global internet radio app UTuneMe has teamed up with two popular student radio stations to launch #RadioU – a new initiative which invites people to get creative with their music playlists.

This latest promotion asks entrants to tweet @utuneme a playlist of 5 tracks using the hashtag #RadioU and offers the opportunity for followers to express their music tastes, whilst being in with a chance to win a set of Beats by Dre Headphones.

Working with UTuneMe to promote the competition are student radio stations Fresh
Air RSU of Roehampton University and PURE FM of Portsmouth University. The radio teams have partnered up with the app to spread the word and encourage students to get involved.

This is not the first time that UTuneMe has got involved with student radio; the launch of the Student Radio Network in December 2012 was a chance for university stations to amplify their reach by broadcasting on the app.

Speaking of the launch, Oliver Ing Station Manager of PURE FM, said:

"Many student radio stations struggle to fund innovative ventures like Apps and using an App like UTuneMe opens up the opportunity to reach audiences on the move that student stations just can’t do at this present time.

“We have looked into developing apps but for only one platform, using UTuneMe has given us the opportunity to reach more people across more devices we wouldn’t have been able to achieve"

UTuneMe will be continuing its support for the student radio network at the National Student Radio Conference on 4th April 2013.
