Lindsay Mazda add the new Mazda6 to their range of vehicles

The all-new Mazda6, released last month, represents the next step forward in the evolution of powerful, fuel-efficient family cars. The official launch weekend took place from 26-27 January at Mazda dealerships across the country, an event Lindsay Mazda was proud to be associated with. The launch weekend may be over, but interested drivers are more than welcome to come to the Lindsay Mazda showroom to try out the exciting new Mazda6 in Northern Ireland.

The body shape of the Mazda6 has been carefully sculpted with both eye-catching design and performance in mind. Mazda have certainly succeeded on the first count, with the look of the CX-5 SUV successfully adapted to create the “KODO – Soul of Motion” design of which the Mazda6 is the first example. Inspired by the power and agility of the cheetah, the new look comprises a bold grille at the front and combines both flowing lines and angular features to create a sense of movement, even when the car is stationary. The performance has been improved, too, thanks largely to the fact that the body has been built from super-light materials which increase responsiveness.

Ergonomic controls and a spacious cabin make the interior of the Mazda6 a pleasure to experience. In-car entertainment and climate control make the journey pleasant for passengers, and folding seats mean that the 6 is extremely flexible when it comes to storage space, too. Safety has been carefully considered, and the 6 contains a number of features designed to reduce the risk of collisions, such as Smart City Brake Support and a Rear Vehicle Monitoring System. Consequently, the Mazda6 has been awarded the highest five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

Whether you pick the Tourer or Saloon version of the 6, the engine range provides power and fuel efficiency in equal measure. Award-winning SKYACTIV technology increases miles per gallon, while drastically reducing CO2 emissions, which are as low as 108g/km for the Saloon and 116g/km for the Tourer. Despite the superb economy of the 6, however, there is some serious power to be found under the bonnet. With a top speed of up to 139mph and 0-60mph in 10.5 seconds, nobody could accuse the Mazda6 of being slow off the mark. That’s not bad for a car that recently won the What Car? Car of the Year 2013 Ultra-low-carbon Award.

A representative of Lindsay Mazda commented “The all-new Mazda6 Saloon is the 2nd of our new generation of cars to feature the full range of our pioneering SKYACTIV Technology and ’KODO - Soul of Motion’ design. With this new flagship model we’re celebrating the pleasure of exhilarating driving experiences and the importance of emotionally appealing design. And with our SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, this saloon also combines the most advanced safety features with outstanding fuel consumption. So once again we’ve defied convention in achieving environmental and functional excellence without compromising your enjoyment of exciting, powerful driving and eye-catching aesthetics.”
