View the all-new Mazda6 at GK Mazda

The new Mazda6 made its UK debut last month, and GK Mazda organised a special launch event on the weekend of January 25-27, to usher it in. Drivers were given an opportunity to investigate Mazda’s latest offering and take it for a test drive with a specialist driver.

A combination of “KODO – Soul of Motion” design and SKYACTIV technology allows the new Mazda6 to perform as well as it looks. Sleek contours and a wide-set stance show off the car’s dynamism whilst a redesigned body shell, including ultra-high tensile steel reinforcements, allows for a stronger, safer structure whilst reducing the car’s overall weight. The choice between Saloon and Tourer allows motorists to choose a style that matches their exact needs, allowing the new Mazda6 to cater for an extensive audience.

Enjoyment of the new Mazda6 is not limited to its powerful performance. The spacious, minimalist interior is refreshingly uncluttered, and its ergonomic design ensures that there is plenty of room for all of the car’s occupants. Air conditioning and cruise control, as standard, enhance driver convenience by maintaining a regular temperature and speed, and an integrated multimedia system, controlled from a Multimedia Commander, is supported by four high-quality speakers.

Two SKYACTIV engines, both enabling acceleration from 0-60mph in 10.5 seconds, propel the new Mazda6 to the pinnacle of clean driving. I-ELOOP allows the car’s motor to recycle kinetic energy that would otherwise have been wasted, whilst i-stop automatically turns off the engine in traffic, and then restarts it without disturbance. Both measures increase the Mazda6’s efficiency, affording it a conservative combined fuel consumption of 67.3 MPG, and they contribute towards CO2 emissions as low as 108g/km, which have been recognised by a prestigious What Car? low-carbon award.
