January 25 saw the arrival of the All-New Mazda6 at Central Motors t/s Shires

The All-New Mazda6 launched in the UK on January 25, and Central Motors t/s Shires eagerly celebrated its arrival with an exclusive launch promotion. Featuring a selection of new Mazda innovations, and a design based on that of the successful CX-5 SUV, the new model looks an enticing prospect.

Mazda - the brand is synonymous with style, and the All-New Mazda6 looks to be the best model yet. As only the second of its generation to feature “KODO – Soul of Motion” design, the new Mazda6 is as modern as it gets. Each finely-proportioned line, from the sloping roof to the firm shoulders, echoes the athleticism of the cheetah which inspired the design. The new Mazda6 is available as a Saloon or a Tourer, and whilst there are plenty of unique features, each grade includes Daytime Running Lights and Halogen Headlights as standard.

The interior is all about innovation, and manual air conditioning and cruise control are supplemented by a host of pioneering systems, like a Multi Commander with a backlit multi-information display, which can even read your emails aloud. The All-New Mazda6 doesn’t shirk on the safety front either, with a lowered, strengthened chassis to enhance handling and protect from the impact of a collision. 

Mazda’s renowned engines don’t disappoint, with the choice of a 2.0-litre direct-injection petrol engine or a 2.2-litre with the world’s lowest compression ratio among diesel engines. Both units have built-in SKYACTIV technology, which utilises an i-ELOOP system to convert kinetic energy into electricity as soon as the driver begins to decelerate. The result is a cleaner, more efficient drive, with combined fuel consumption at 67.3 MPG and award-winningly low CO2 emissions of 108g/km. The Mazda6’s What Car? Car of the Year 2013 Carbon Emissions Award is certainly not its only selling point, however, as it is capable of accelerating to 60mph in a rapid 10.5 seconds.
