Pregame.com’s Johnny Detroit to Play In World Series Of Poker

Las Vegas, NV., July 18,2006: Pregame.com, where bettors go to play with confidence, will have a presence in the 2006 World Series of Poker: their own Director of Client Relations, Johnny Detroit.

From playing in a satellite tournament at poker site Bodog.net, Detroit won a free spot in the $10,000 buy-in Texas Hold ’Em Main Event of the WSOP, taking place in Las Vegas at the Rio Hotel and Casino. In the tournament, Detroit will be playing along side some of the biggest names in poker.

Says Detroit, “[I’m] more excited about this than when I tied for the NFL Super Contest at the Las Vegas Hilton and won 6 figures. There’s no where on earth with more action than the World Series of Poker.”

Last year’s winner of the Main Event, Joseph Hachem of Australia, won $7.5 million, and seemed to come out of nowhere from a field of over 32,000 players.

Detroit has been playing poker on and offline for the past 7 years, experiencing running games in his own house and honing his craft online. If he wins this year’s tournament, he could possibly win up to $10 million dollars in prize money, along with a prestigious gold WSOP bracelet. Detroit says he likes his chances in this year’s tournament: ”[They’re] as good as Moneymaker’s were" referring to amateur Chris Moneymaker’s surprise win in 2004’s Main Event Championship.
