Local family owned Shelbourne Motors Portadown are celebrating 40 years in business this year and to celebrate have hand picked 40 approved used cars that will be sold at cost price for the month of January only.

Over the years and to this day the local car dealership has been synonymous with making motoring more affordable for Northern Ireland car buyers, not only for new and used cars, but right across their multi-award winning portfolio to include fleet services, accident repair, vehicle rental, servicing/parts, car insurance & finance. Throughout 2013 Shelbourne Motors will be celebrating their 40th anniversary with a series of exclusive monthly offers, details of which will be released initially on our website.

“We are absolutely delighted to reach this momentous 40th landmark and I on behalf of the rest of the Ward family would like to extend our personal thanks to all our customers, old and new, for their continued support over the years” commented Paul Ward, Shelbourne Motors Director.  “We have observed considerable change and growth down the years with the introduction of new franchises, services and state of the art facilities at our Tandragee Road business. Our integrity over the years has been central to everything we do, giving our customers the best value, right advice and biggest choice possible in their vehicle selection and purchase.  This year we want to go another step further, and have hand picked 40 of our approved used cars that will be available to buy at cost price. This truly is a one off and for the month of January only, so when they’re gone they really are gone”.

Shelbourne Motors was founded by Fred Ward in January 1973 and began as a small petrol filling station selling a small number of new and used Toyotas.  Over the years Fred expanded Shelbourne by opening a new workshop/parts and service building around 1975, followed by a new purpose built Toyota showroom facility in 1977.  Fred’s eldest son Richard Ward joined the business in 1985 followed by Paul and Caroline Ward in 1991.  The new millennium saw more growth with the introduction of a new Nissan franchise and showroom in January 2003. Followed swiftly with the addition of Renault, and yet another new franchise with new showroom facilities. Shelbourne continued with further growth with the introduction of a new car and van rental business boasting over 140 vehicles, followed by Autoselect in 2007 (all makes used car supermarket) and Fleet4U (contract hire specialists for business users) and now employ over 100 local staff.

“To this day Shelbourne remains the longest established privately owned Toyota Franchise in Northern Ireland, and we are proud to have played a pivotal role in the phenomenal growth and popularity of the Toyota brand right across the province” comment Richard Ward, Shelbourne Motors Director. “2013 will be another landmark year for the company and we look forward to seeing all our customers over the next 40 years, whilst welcoming many new customers to the Shelbourne Motors experience”.
