Fujitsu Siemens Computers introduces the world’s smallest and lightest personal navigation assistant, ideal for the car, bike or even on foot

Munich , Jul 18, 2006
Finding your way has never been easier than with the new Pocket LOOX N100 Series personal navigation assistant (PNA) from Fujitsu Siemens Computers. This new device is the perfect mobile navigation system for any mode of transport: car, bike or even on foot. Featuring NAVIGON’s MobileNavigator|6, and weighing in at just 110 grams, the Pocket LOOX N100 Series is the lightest and smallest PNA on the market. With an integrated MP3 player, it’s also a portable sound machine. The sleek design with integrated antenna and interchangeable colored front covers make the device adaptable to personal style. The Pocket LOOX N100 Series, a perfect companion at home or on holiday, will hit the shelves at electronics stores starting in August for prices starting at €299 (incl. VAT).

A navigation system is standard equipment in today’s cars and on handhelds. Many users find conventional systems inflexible. They are too heavy and awkward to carry around. Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT provider, has made these problems a thing of the past with its Pocket LOOX N100 Series. The stylish, compact navigation assistant is designed to let you navigate your hike through the urban jungle or trekking across the wilderness.

The design team at Fujitsu Siemens Computers focused its efforts on top performance, elegance and usability. The Pocket LOOX N100 Series is also the first PNA with NAVIGON MobileNavigator|6. The latest version of this navigational software features a vastly improved intuitive interface together along with highly detailed maps, which cover 37 European countries on a DVD supplied with the device. With its integrated high-performance GPS module SiRFstar III, the Pocket LOOX N100 Series does not need to be fixed to the windshield for in-car use, while the optional Traffic Message Channel (or TMC) module keeps the driver away from traffic jams.

But the Pocket LOOX N100 Series’s appeal is by no means limited to drivers. The bright display means it’s also ideal for cyclists and motorcyclists, and the “hold” button ensures that applications on the touchscreen cannot be closed unintentionally. Replacing the battery is straightforward, too, extending operating times considerably.

Technical highlights:
- Powerful navigation system with integrated SiRFstar III GPS module
- Multi-format audio player supporting MP3, WMA and AAC
- Pre-installed country map and navigation application
- Samsung® 300MHz processor
- The world’s lightest (110g) and smallest (89 mm x 62 mm x 16 mm) navigation device
- Outstanding design with interchangeable front covers to suit individual tastes and moods
