Keep abreast of your strokes with Swimtag® at Virgin Active Health Clubs

Virgin Active has introduced Swimtag®, an interactive tracking device for swimmers, into its state of the art flagship Classic Health Club at 200 Aldersgate.

Swimtag is a web-based interface that enables swimmers of all levels to track their activity in the club’s plush 20m swimming pool, including lengths; splits, stroke rate and stroke type.

Members collect their Swimtag wristband upon arrival at the club and return it to a specially designated docking station at the end of their session, where all data is uploaded to their personalised online profile.

As well as improving technique, tracking progress and monitoring personal bests, Swimtag allows Virgin Active members to interact with each other and compete with other users through competitions and social networking.

Alan Holl, head of fitness at Virgin Active Health Clubs, says, “Swimtag provides a value added benefit to our health club members. We first installed it at our Northampton health club where it really resonated with our members. Our new Classic Club at 200 Aldersgate has raised the bar in terms of health clubs and Swimtag will enable members to improve their swimming experience and technique.”

Swimtag is available to Virgin Active members at 200 Aldersgate, Chiswick Park and Northampton Riverside.
