Jeff Ruhe Named Executive Producer This Old House Productions

July 17, 2006, Jeff Ruhe has been named Executive Producer, This Old House Productions, Inc., a division of Time4 Media. The appointment, effective August 1, was announced by Time4 Entertainment President Paul Speaker.

Reporting to Speaker, Ruhe will be responsible for overseeing television production for the No. 1 multimedia home enthusiast brand This Old House, growing the franchise across new platforms and with new programming. Current shows include three national first-run and syndicated series: the original This Old House, enjoying an unprecedented, 27-year run as television’s most awarded home-improvement show, with 16 Emmy Awards and 75 nominations; Ask This Old House, the highest-rated new weekly series introduced on the PBS schedule in Fall 2002; and Inside This Old House, airing exclusively on A&E.

Ruhe, 54, has over 25 years of experience spanning broadcast network, syndication, cable programming and the Internet and has worked with leading broadcasting companies including ESPN, ABC Sports and ABC News, King World, and Cablevision. He was most recently President of American Adventure Productions (AAP), an independent production company, based in Aspen, Colorado, which produces high quality adventure, wildlife and family entertainment.

Previously in his career, Ruhe was Senior Vice President of ESPN Event Management where he developed and managed the X Games and the ESPY Awards. As SVP of ESPN’s international division, Ruhe contributed to ESPN’s brand expansion initiatives around the world.

Ruhe started out in the industry with an 11-year stint at ABC as a protégé of Roone Arledge. He held a variety of positions at ABC Sports, including Director of Olympic Programming, where he served as Coordinating Producer for three Olympic Games and won three Emmy Awards. A graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development, Ruhe resides in Darien, CT with his wife and two daughters.
