Launch Of New Web Store Offering Ghost Chairs And Other Designer Furniture

With the holidays approaching a local business woman has sourced beautiful designer pieces at very reasonable prices.  Some of these designs such as the Ghost Chair go back forty years but are still as cutting edge and modern in appearance today as they were when they first appeared in our stores.

The web store she has launched is - ghostchairsandmore.com - which specialises in very practical acrylic and glass furniture and accessories.  Having carried out considerable research she concluded that for many busy families and single people, there was a very real need for virtually  maintenance free furniture that is fun to live with and also looks good.  Hence the new website.

Some of the designs go back to the 1960’s - the ghost chair was designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell and he based the design on the neoclassical chair.  The Neoclassical look is based on Greek and Roman symmetry and classic geometrics, giving the chairs their distinctive oval back and straight slim legs.  A very elegant and extremely functional design and by using acrylic instead of ornate fabrics - virtually indestructible .

Another one of our favorites is the Hanging Bubble Chair designed in 1968 by Eero Aarnio and featured on the cover of Playboy.  This chair has acoustic properties as it surrounds anybody seated in it and is therefore used in hotel lobbies etc. to enable the use of mobile phones in comfort.  It is such a fun chair that children love it.  Bubble Chairs can be hung from the ceiling or used outdoors on the patio incorporating the use of a specially made stand.

As well as these and other classic chairs the owners have sourced more modern designs and are particularly proud of their dining sets, with many variations of design of chair backs to include matching bar stools and even a bar to serve drinks for your guests before dinner.

The site also offers many beautiful table lamps and acrylic sculpture in all colors to suit your decor.
