14 July 2006 - Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe ) announces that ship owner Allseas recently has awarded Imtech – in partly co-operation with Wärtsilä and GTI – the order for the automation and technical infrastructure on board of the offshore vessel ’Audacia’. This is an advanced deep-sea pipe laying vessel for exploitation of oil and gas wells. Imtech’s part of the order exploitation amounts up to 40 million euro.

As a result of an increasing demand in energy, more and more ships are being deployed for exploitation of oil and gas into deep waters. Ship owner Allseas has bought the bulk carrier ’Geeview’, which will be converted into an advanced 225-meters long offshore vessel named ’Audacia’, which is specialised in deep-sea pipe laying activities. Imtech Marine & Offshore, one of the maritime companies of Imtech, will carry out a big part of the automation and technical infrastructure on board of this ship. The works will be carried out at Keppel Verolme shipyard at Rozenburg. The delivery of the assignment is planned early 2007.

Together with Wärtsilä Imtech will supply the highly sophisticated integrated automation and navigation systems, among which an integrated bridge, the complete power generation as well as the advanced electrical propulsion package. At the same time a dynamic positioning system will be installed, making it possible to manoeuvre very accurately in all sea weather conditions.

Imtech is also responsible for the complete low-voltage energy solutions on board of the Audacia, among which switchboards and electrical drives for the winch and tensioners.

Together with GTI Imtech will also deliver the complete electrical installation and related engineering solutions.

These orders will further reinforce Imtech’s position in the international offshore market.
