After acquiring the CE registration of MammaPrint® in 2005, Agendia’s second micro array service, CupPrint®*, has also acquired Medical Device registration at the Dutch Healthcare Inspectorate. “With the CE registration of both its products and the ISO 17025 accreditation of its Laboratory services, Agendia is in a unique position to market its products and to provide a legal basis for its use in clinical practice”, says Laura van ‘t Veer, COO of Agendia.

This test is intended for patients with a Cancer of Unknown Primary, which represents around 4% of all cancers. For these patients, assessing the origin of the primary tumor, which guides treatment, is challenging by conventional techniques and often a lengthy process. CupPrint can assist in identifying the primary tumor site, which can support the doctor in deciding on the optimal treatment of the patient.
