EDMONTON, AB – The PCL family of companies is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as having one of Canada’s 10 most admired corporate cultures. The Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures listing annually recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having cultures that have helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.

“We are justly proud that the corporate culture we have created has been recognized as one of the most admired in Canada,” said Paul Douglas, president and CEO. “For more than a century we have been building that culture through a shared vision of mentorship, safety, and building success with our clients, subcontractors, and the community. It’s instilled in everything we do.”

PCL’s submission highlighted various strengths that contribute to a strong corporate culture. These include training and development programs, a tradition of community involvement, and an employee-ownership model that is unique in the industry.
PCL received this recognition in the enterprise category, for organizations with revenues over $500 million.

Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures Program is presented by the executive search firm Waterstone Human Capital. Nominated organizations make a detailed submission to the program, based on five criteria: vision and leadership; cultural alignment, measurement, and sustainability; rewards, recognition, and innovative business achievement; corporate performance; and corporate social responsibility.

Of the more than 400 organizations nominated, 10 are selected in each of four categories: three are dedicated to private sector companies, based on differing levels of revenue, and one to the broader public sector.

The full list of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2012 can be found online at Waterstonehc.com and listed in the November 29 issue of the National Post.
