Can Jenelle of Teen Mom Pass A Drug Test?

While millions of Americans struggle to pass a drug test with niacin or something worse just to try to attain work or benefits, Jenelle Evans will likely get a slap on the wrist. Do celebrities have it easier where urine tests are concerned?

It won’t be the first time one of the cast mates from MTV’s Teen Mom will face a court ordered drug test, and it wouldn’t be the first time one of them failed if Jenelle Evans is unable to produce a clean specimen in the coming scenes of the show.

But with all the media buzz around drug testing for welfare and fourth amendment rights with regard to urine tests for marijuana since the results of the 2012 election in Washington and Colorado, it’s likely that Jenelle’s probation officer will be lenient with her if she fails her drug test.

As if that weren’t enough to put the whole scenario in the spotlight, there’s the faux celebrity associated with reality television that could cause law enforcement in Janelle’s case to come down lightly, which “Hardly seems fair when we consider there are unemployed people in Florida being forced to urinate in a cup for the right to benefits they ought to be entitled to by virtue of the fact that they are American citizens,” says Manny Herida, a translator for the Horry County Court.

What are Americans trying to pass a drug test doing when they can’t get the results they want on their own? After all, the scary reality is that this could keep them from receiving benefits they need—many would argue that they are even entitled to.

Many are learning how to pass a drug test with niacin, but what they don’t know is that using niacin to pass a drug test is dangerous and can overtax the liver and kidneys to varying degrees, some of which can have fatal or near-fatal consequences. “So many of the people we deal with have already tried niacin or something worse. I worry how many people are using so-called home remedies to pass a drug test when they could just spend a little money and stay safe and do something healthy in the process of landing a job or getting benefits or health insurance,” says Dave Dawkins of PassADrugTest.com.

Jenelle will likely move on regardless of the results of her drug test, but one has to wonder if the cycle will ever be broken. Drug testing is truly becoming a rite of passage for reality TV celeb personalities of all ages and walks of life. “Perhaps a little jail time and fewer kindnesses from her mom might not just be good for Janelle, but also for how young people in this country perceive drug use.”
